Don’t know if you guys have been following Shuttermade on Facebook or not. Or if you know about the beautiful Antler Theme (which surprisingly will be on sale soon!).

Anyways here are the prices! Let me know what you think and for heavens sake follow Shuttermade on Facebook to not be left behind on all the first hand updates!

What happens if I’m not one of the 111 first people?
Don’t worry you probably will be! But if you’re not by chance, read about the after sale prices here…

crystalfountain asked: i have a shuttermade portfolio...how do you add more pages to it? i only have a contact link but no other links. I would like to have a CV page. Thank you! Nicolette Iles xxxxx

Shuttermade doesn’t facilitate multiple pages at the time being, I now think it is better to keep it that way. I moved the process of multiple pages, customization and personal domains to the Antler project which allows me to focus on these features rather creating shuttermade.com the next major portfolio service, which is a long term project not a short term one. Antler should be released this week, the first week of October for everyone!

    Antler

Well. I have an announcement to make. In short, we will have a portable version of Shuttermade available in two months or less (by mid November 2011). It will be called Antler.

This is the response to hundreds of people asking me,
    • Can I get an account?
    • Can I use Shuttermade on my own domain?
    • Can I upload add that aren’t in my flickr account?
    • Can I edit the menu or have more menu item than one?
    • Can I have a biography page.

    YES, with ANTLER YOU CAN.

Most of my time working on Shuttermade was spent trying to design a system that could withstand thousands of users and hundreds of thousands of visits per day. Partially successful, it soon became obviously that designing a user based system would not be a short term task for a one man task force.

I decided to take the Shuttermade core and add all the popular requested features and realise them as a WordPress theme. A theme that would not be blogging centered but portfolio centered, a Shuttermade powered theme with unlimited pages and flexibility.

It took three weeks of day and night coding but its finished and working at the moment. In the incubation period it will take some time to rigorously test it and find out all the bugs it may have. Afterward, I’ll announce here again how you can download it with a complete guide on all it’s features for a very affordable one time fee.

I’m very excited about this, and I know you all have been waiting for this for a long time : )

    UPDATE:
Check out a demo of the theme here!

    Core Update

Updated Shuttermade’s core to allow google authentication, this will allow me to add new parameters on the fly, especially looking forward to one to distinguish between paid/free accounts.

The new core now authenticates with Google instead of just streaming the information, allowing me to use the data stored on Google’s end effortlessly.

Next step is to improve the front end of Shuttermade with the promised features. A biography page, multiple galleries, and editing capability. And offer these extra services to users who are willing to pay a small amount for them.

    Note:

Shuttermade will always have a very useful free version. Yet I will need to provide a paid version simultaneous to the free version to support the running costs. I hope this makes sense.

If you ask un-anonymous questions it’s far easier for me to get back to you since the anon ones tend to be repetitive and I tend to not enjoy publishing them. Thank you guys : )

Anonymous asked: Hi, I have a question,

inorder for me to have a shuttermade website do I need to have a flickr first? How do I get this account? Also, I already have my own domain but I would like to use shuttermade for it.

    THANK YOU.

Yes you need a flickr first! Also you will need a Shuttermade as well. It is possible to use Shuttermade on your own domain with an iFrame (click here).

    We are cached.

Shuttermade now serves over 64,000 of your visitors per month! And that was a heavy load on the server. Well not anymore because Shuttermade is now cached.

That means all pages are put together once and only once then served to your audience ∞ times. What does that mean to you? Well, faster pages for one! But more importantly what does it mean to the server, well it has far less work to do, and it can take a break for awhile.
